This tool lets you copy an envelope from one object to all the selected objects.
To use it, simply select the objects you want to have the new envelope, click on this tool, and then click on the shape you want to copy the envelope from. You'll notice a helper window that appears when you move your mouse over the shape to indicate which envelope will be assigned to selected shapes.
